Introduction – Architectural Branding for the Corporate Entry

Unilever, a global leader in consumer goods, partnered with Sun Studio to produce a custom-printed glass surface for the primary reception desk at their headquarters. As the central focal point of the lobby, this piece needed to reflect the brand’s commitment to quality and modern design. Our role was to transform a functional furniture element into a sophisticated branding statement, ensuring that the corporate identity was integrated into the glass with flawless clarity and the resilience required for a high-traffic professional environment.

THE CHALLENGE

The primary requirement for the Unilever reception table was to achieve a perfect balance between high-end visual representation and daily operational utility. The challenge involved ensuring that the corporate graphics and logos remained visually crisp and color-accurate when viewed through thick architectural glass. Furthermore, because the surface would be subject to constant physical contact, cleaning chemicals, and the movement of items, the printing had to be completely protected from abrasion while maintaining a smooth, high-gloss finish that met strict corporate maintenance and hygiene standards.

OUR SOLUTION- GRADE GLASS PRINTING

Sun Studio utilized a specialized “sub-surface” printing technique to ensure the brand graphics were protected by the glass itself. Our approach provided a high-performance, polished result:

  • Reverse-Image Application: By printing the corporate graphics on the underside of the tempered glass, we created a barrier that prevents any physical wear or chemical damage to the artwork.

 

  • High-Density Ink Calibration: We employed advanced UV printing to achieve rich, opaque colors that remain vibrant even under the intense overhead lighting of a corporate lobby.

 

  • Safety-First Engineering: All panels were produced using certified tempered safety glass, precision-cut to fit the unique geometry of the reception unit with seamless edge finishes.

The finished reception table serves as a powerful first impression, immediately communicating Unilever’s professional status to every visitor. The headquarters now features a centerpiece that combines uncompromising brand fidelity with exceptional durability.
